Charleston Window Treatments was started when two brothers, both born and raised in Charleston, found a need that was being under-serviced in the local area. Strachan and Holloway, after much discussion and research, found a solution for local homeowners and businesses to utilize. The inception of Charleston Window Treatments came about as a way to serve homeowners and business owners by providing the highest quality window treatments.
Strachan and Holloway combined their work ethic in service based industries with their knowledge of the Charleston area, creating the luxurious company known as Charleston Window Treatments. The company’s sole purpose is to work directly with consumers to fill needs and wants pertaining to custom window treatments.
The dedication and immense focus that Strachan and Holloway bring to the table is unmatched, and recognized throughout the Lowcountry. Meet the Team
Strachan Small Hagood
Strachan was born and raised right here in Charleston. As the youngest of five, he grew up with the will and determination to succeed through a lifelong journey of competition with his siblings, in both sports and academics. Following in the footsteps of both of his older brothers Strachan went to James Island Charter High and completed AP and IB courses, while maintaining various jobs throughout high school. From there, he attended The Citadel Military College to continue a family legacy, graduating in 2017. Graduating from The Citadel with multiple academic honors and various roles in clubs/organizations, Strachan took his drive and focus to work for Amazon. With an established career across multiple organizations within Amazon, Strachan found his passion to be serving customers.
After finishing at Amazon in a Sr. PM role for corporate, Strachan partnered with his oldest brother, Holloway, and turned a dream into a reality by creating the most luxurious window treatment company in town. The attention to detail and dedication that Strachan brings every day is a trait he has developed over years of hard work and determination. The day to day interactions with customers to deliver a flawless experience in finding the best window treatments for their home or commercial space is what Strachan loves most about his work. He constantly strives to earn customer trust, and dedicates his time to creating a culture within the company that sets Charleston Window Treatments apart from its competitors as an industry leader.
Outside of work, Strachan spends his free time in the coastal marshes harvesting various waterfowl species or chasing schools of redfish. If he’s not working, you can find Strachan running around the harbor with his Boykin Spaniel or at the gym. Growing up on Folly, Strachan has spent his entire life on the water and knows the area like the back of his hand.
James Holloway Hagood
Born and raised in Charleston, Holloway was the first of his family to graduate from The Citadel in 2010. At The Citadel he learned about hard work and dedication – balancing the strict mental and physical demands of being a cadet while also committing sufficient time to excel in academics and other activities like The Summerall Guards.
After graduating college, Holloway carried his love for hard work and grit into his ‘professional’ life. In lieu of a desk job, in 2011 he began working as pedicab driver for a local company called Charleston Bike Taxi. He also worked as a Crossfit trainer for 2-3 years from 2016 on. In 2017 he became manager of Bike Taxi while also earning his MBA from The Citadel. As luck would have it (and after 8 years of 50+ hour weeks of riding) he ultimately got the opportunity of a lifetime to buy Bike Taxi.
He has since revamped the company into an iconic local brand with a team of 60+ riders, providing environmentally friendly transportation to the locals and visitors of Charleston 365 days a year. He also just recently started a second pedicab company in Savannah, Pink Bike Taxi. As the oldest brother of 3, he is lucky to usually be the first to hear of new ideas/projects that he can help with. At CWT, Holloway brings his love and experience for building and improving small businesses to the table.
